Department of French
Welcome
The Department has approximately 200 students currently enrolled, with five full-time staff and one lecteur/lectrice post, which is filled on the basis of our exchange with the Université de Toulouse-Le Mirail. There are also several part-time staff, the majority of whom are French native speakers.
The aim of the Department is to put its students in firm possession of French language and civilisation, with particular attention to the French literary and cultural tradition since the Renaissance. The Department offers a full range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
